As you learned in the previous post, I've started counting. Here I am in action.

22 months and counting!

So, here's what I like to do these days:

As you have probably seen, I love my ABCs. I now know A, B, C, D, F, H, I, M, N, O, R, S, T, and V perfectly. I get E confused with F and Y confused with V, but I'm close to getting those two letters down also. I'm coming along nicely with L and X. I like to tell Mommy and Daddy what letters I can see at any moment. I really like to jump around in a word so that they have no idea what I'm looking at! It could be their T-shirt, a cereal box, a board game, a water bottle, or something they don't even have a clue about.

I'm also starting to count. If Mommy or Daddy gets me started by saying "one," I can get all the way to "four." but, I'm not sure what comes after 4. Is it 3 or 8?

I run pretty well these days and was recently spotted running laps around our main floor. I'm really fascinated with a tricycle, but I'm just a little bit too short to work it all out. I also now walk up and down the stairs. Carefully. Preferably holding someone's hand.

Horsie is still my favorite animal, and I keep him nice and safe (but not so clean) in my crib. While horsie sleeps during the day, my favorite two animals are my plastic Pooh and crazy-hair Baby. I'm also rather fond of Tigger, Penguin, and Elephant.

At mealtime, I can get a whole bunch of peas on a fork and into my mouth without dropping any, much to Ziggy's disappointment. I still eat pretty much anything, from pesto to tater tots to steak. I no longer sit in a booster seat because the buckles were too "distracting."

My favorite toys right now are my alphabet puzzle, my golf-club set, my miniature Pooh books, anything that rocks, and crayons. My favorite songs are "row, row" and the dinosaur march. I'm also getting competent at Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes! And, one day, Mommy stopped singing the ABC song in the middle and I had to help her get going again. My favorite books are Green Eggs and Ham, Fox in Socks, the Alphabet Book, and Clifford books.

I still love daycare (they taught me how to count!), and will start going full time in September. Also in September, I will probably transition into the Green room with Ms. Saless and Ms. Janet. I'll miss Ms. Debbie and Ms. Gail so much--they've been my teachers since I was 3.5 months old! I guess the big deal with the Green room is something called "potty training."

I'm really fussy about putting things where they belong. For example, when I come inside, we do "shoes off." Then my socks come off and need to be tucked into my shoes. Then my shoes have to be placed just so against the wall or in their basket. Lastly, if mommy or daddy have left shoes and/or socks askew, I have to fix them.

My favorite words: Mommy, Daddy, shoe, hat, baby, Pooh, (m)ilk, stool, up, please, help, slide, (out)side, H, and O.

Being goofy

Sometimes I like to do somersaults. Here are me and Daddy getting ready to try one together.

The Black and Bluest Eye

Last Monday evening, Mommy and Daddy had a couple of friends over for dinner. I walked down the stairs to get a toy and stumbled for a second. I grabbed the railing and steadied myself, but my face hit the railing.

Like a fine wine that gets better with age, so too does a bruise on the eye. Note the wonderful color change from Tuesday morning (the first picture) to this evening (the last picture).

I've been working with Mommy to learn my letters. I'm doing pretty well, if I do say so myself. Of course, there is still lots of work to be done...
